President Obama finally disclosed the long awaited plan by the new US administration in December at the United States Military Academy at west point. President Obama revealed the new war strategy for Afghanistan where the future us Engagements were laid out so that the US can have a successful end to a lengthy and costly war.
On the whole the new plan is narrowed and limited to what the US efforts in future will be in Afghanistan. The main US strategy is to break apart and defeat Al-Qaida through adopting a threefold approach, military, civilian and successful partnership with Pakistan. Under the military strategy the Obama administration
The main US strategy is to break apart and defeat Al-Qaida through adopting a threefold approach, military: civilian and successful partnership with Pakistan
will be deploying 30,000 troops in the southern parts of Afghanistan Helmand and Kandahar. These troops will be stationed in Afghanistan for a timeframe of eighteen months after which troop’s withdrawal will begin from July 2011. The troops are sent for improving security situation in Afghanistan, which according to General Mcchrystal has reached beyond havoc. However, it is yet to be seen that to what extent President obama has also asked the north Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) allies and other countries for their cooperation in fighting xtremists.
President Obama reassured Americans that the plan serves their interest and their sacrifices are worth as they focus on two important issues: The US interests in Afghanistan and region: and the raised cost of resources. Obama wants rebuild a balancing economy, lost due to past wrong Policies. They are not ignoring the additional costs of wars they are involved in. A rough estimate of the new war plan is said to cost $30 billion for just military part this year. On withdrawal part president Obama left the troops withdrawal pronouncement unclear in terms of the total number of troops who would leave and how many would stay and whether the withdrawal pace would be gradual or speedy etc. Obama administration has left some control with Gen. McChrystal over the composition and amount of whatever resources required for implementing new plan. Though, how the huge amount of resources will be used is not revealed yet.
The Obama administration hopes to build transitional grounds with their military efforts to arrive at the civilian stage of strategy. While the set timeframe and “no blank check” without expected deliverance serves the future civilian approach of new plan, which is to push the Afghan government and officials in realizing their responsibilities instead of dully depending on the U.S, who will not fight an endless war. It also raises questions with “what if” that particularly is in the minds of people of Pakistan. Attaining success on the civilian side in Afghanistan seems to be a utopian idea and is too soon to predict mainly within the planned timeframe, especially when the institutional and governmental instability with corrupt framework is known every where!
The new plan also did not reveal on how the US will be handling the civilian ineffectiveness and governmental challenges in Afghanistan. Keeping in mind the past governance, it create doubt about President Karzai and his government’s abilities in handling the pressure and coming up with such policies that could lead towards resolving the problems in Afghanistan. It is also questionable whether Afghan government and sub-national governments could match with those of the US efforts and demands in arriving at the solutions. Therefore, it indicates less concern and commitment and uncertainty on part of the Obama administration towards both Afghanistan and Pakistan.
Among the crucial challenges that Afghan civilian officials needs to address is to ensure security and demolish Taliban and Al-Qaida. Although, there have been talks going for reconciliation of Taliban along with the military efforts but what if time limit dampens these efforts. Taliban have also threatened to dismantle peace process if foreign troops fail the leave Afghanistan. Taliban insurgents fired back at US decision of increasing troop’s deployment in Afghanistan with more fierce death. Particularly, when Taliban are aware of the fact that the US will not stay in their country forever, and it is Taliban who will live in Afghanistan once the Us withdraws. They might drag the war and grab the opportunity when it arrives to regain their lost autonomous status. To gain such beneficial positions it is possible that the reconciliated Talibans can rejoin with the extremists in the post US situation for their survival.
Fighting insurgency cannot be achieved in limited time, chiefly when it has spread across the border and
Pakistan needs to have more clarity on the implementation methods of the new US policy. President Obama left the troops withdrawal pronouncement unclear in terms of the total number of troops who would leave and how many would stay and whether the withdrawal pace would be gradual or speedy etc.
in the region. If the US is not in Afghanistan then it will add more pressure and instability on neighboring Pakistan. It is already known that whatever happens in Afghanistan, Pakistan would be affected by it. Therefore, the third factor of Obama’s war strategy to have a committed partnership with Pakistan, which was too narrow in the past, raises agitation among Pakistani’s. Pakistan needs to have more clarity on the implementation methods of the new US policy. With no mention of porous border security and Pakistan’ concerns when more troops will be deployed in the volatile southern parts of Afghanistan, there are apprehensions that it might increase cross-border infiltration of insurgents escaping into Pakistan from Afghanistan.
On the one hand the Obama administration soothes Pakistani Government and society with long effective partnership while on the other it once again delivered the hard stance to Pakistan on providing the alleged safe havens to extremists. The US objectives of cutting down their resources in Afghanistan are for pressurizing and targeting Pakistan. There are doubts among the US administration on Pakistan’s ability to target insurgents and handling the situation at home. The speech left unclear the extent to which their future involvement in Pakistan will be. It is important to understand that how far Pakistan’s security and autonomy will be compromised when the US alleges that Al-Qaida home is Pakistan and not Afghanistan. Just few days after the appraisal of Pakistan efforts in countering insurgents in Sawat and south Wazirstan by President OBama, it was again asked to do more. These developments are causing anxiety in Pakistan.
The US administration also holds an option of changing the tactics, if by July 2011 they fail to reach their goals. But the question is what those other ways could be? How much pressure and apprehension it will build on Pakistan, especially when the new plan is unclear the policy makers in Pakistan needs to be alert and come up with rational decisions that can check on the possibilities of witnessing more drone attacks in its already vulnerable parts of NWFP and Balochistan. As of now the US has talked bout withdrawing ground troops while marines and its air force with drone attacks remains, which would be more damaging. Steps are needed to stop illegal border crossings to control the future domestic setbacks.
An alarming situation in the post-US Afghanistan could arise for Pakistan in form of increased Indian involvement. This will create more troubles for Pakistan as chance of Karzai administration aligning with India once again would complicate Pakistan-India relations and develop strong foothold of India in Afghnistan. From Afghan soil India can easily continue to create disturbances in Pakistan. These future developments would severely affect the already weakened economy and political instability of Pakistan leading to growing domestic restlessness. So far, the Obama administration’s new war strategy is

Mainly unchanged expect for it has shown clarity on their exit point from Afghanistan. The policy reflects more of a Pakistan policy than an Afghanistan one, as more US engagements in Pakistan are expected. Basically, what the US is hoping, is to have an Iraq like solution of a gradual transition starting from provincial to national level where security control can then be transferred to Afghans and then the US would then be more focused to pursue its agenda in Pakistan.

SIKANDER I had perceived Indian movie promos several time which base on Kashmeer so Recently I watched and examine as typical indian censure on Pakistan and also Kashmer Political system and Peace process on Kashmer by Politics. As my quip the whole plot of the movie is ridicules and implausible Being a Pakistani I was very curious about this movie becas myself little bit more attentive on Kashmer issu then others.
Few days before I was writing Pakistan india policy on kashmeer but this movie twisted my mind and became belligerent then I started my search on implausible India I found unbelievable facts which usually mysterious for us every Indian news channel broadcast and news paper publish even indian intellectuals comic propaganda or misinformation regarding Pakistan’s Nuclear Arsenal would slip into the hands of Taliban or extremists Muslim group in fact ignored that india nucler arsenal under terrorization from uncountable internal Indian terrorist groups like most dodgy and vigorous Maoist/Naxqlite. Maoist/Naxalite forces are gaining control of 35% of India. Recently I heard news from one of my Indian net friend that Indian Nuclear power plant scientist Mr. Mahalingam went missing or kidnapped by NAXALITE/ Maoist. Then i examine Indian epapers and youtube my search opened the RED CORRIDOR of india.
This was the second time Mr. Mahalingam went missing. Earlier while working at Kalpakkam nuclear power plant in Tamil nadu he was reported missing for few days but had returned home later. It mystery over the disappearance of the Indian Nuclear power plant scientist, This time he never returned. Someone killed him.
Ending the mystery over the disappearance of the Indian Nuclear power plant scientist Mahalingam indina naval divers on Saturday recovered his body from the Kali river, six days after he went missing.
But question is who killed the Indian nuclear scientists? This is not the first time Indian nuclear scientists are killed. Another Vikram was killed by two Christian woman spies sent to him in Kovalam by a foreign agency. Homi Bhabha was killed in a plane crash created by a foreign spy agency booth India’s progress science and technology.
On the other hand western foreign agencies are in India these days. They buy the whole parliament and implant foreign agent at the very top these days. Then who killed the Indian nuclear scientists this time? Were the Islamic or Kashmiri Freedom fighters behind this heinous act?
It is the easiest thing for Indian agencies media and political parties to put garbage on Pakistan’s head this time also, but the situation cannot be publicized so easily. Presently it is the matter of India’s own and most important matter of weakness and lapses in internal security arrangements. One can ask that if Indian Scientists are so vulnerable prey to terrorists like Maoist/Naxalite or revolutionary groups or extremists inside India, then how India can assure the world that it’s Nuclear Arsenal is safe and secure.
The possible take over of Indian Nuclear Arsenal by Maoist/Naxalite is an important issue and needs the attention of super powers of the world. The Maoists have declared the Chintainer area as their Dandekaran state’s capital Red corridor. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Naxalite
It seems that the Maoists are interested in enlarging their area of influence outside the jungles of the ‘Red Corridor’ that runs from the Nepal border. Lately, they have begun targeting India’s seat of power Newdelhi and many other cities by setting up urban bases with the aim to break in and influence policy makers, judiciary media civil liberty human rights cultural dalit women and youth organisations.
Highly classified maps and reports of the Central intelligence agencies accessed that the Maoist/Naxalite-affected areas now include certain parts of the National Capital Region and neighbouring states. At some places, they have been teaching how to fire guns and make bombs and land mines.
Even indian PM Manmohan Singh described the Naxalite problem as the single largest threat to India.
According to a confidential report of the indiamilitary intelligence India’s 231 districts in 13 states including three in the NCR are now being targeted by the Maoist to achieve its ultimate aim. So far it was believed that about 170 districts falling under the dreaded ‘Red Corridor’or under the Maoist terror. The ‘Red Corridor’ runs through the dense forest and tribal belt from Nepal through Bihar, Jharkhand and all the way to Andhra Pradesh and to the upper reaches of Maharashtra.
Most intresting thing that inside their corridor the Naxalites run a parallel government and vow to continue their fight against the state a full fledged war they call people’s struggle like Kashmeer. All the Leftwing militant organisations including the Maoist Communist Centre (MCC) and the People’s War Group (PWG), after their merger are now operating under the flagship revolutionary party.
The Central Committee of Maoist has published a secret red book ‘Strategy and Tactics of the Indian Revolution’, which is said to be the Naxals’ Bible. The book says: The central task of the revolution is seizure of political power through protracted People’s war.
Talking about supporting sub national movements in India the boook says: Lakhs of enemy’s armed troops have been deployed since long in Kashmeer and the north eastern states. More and more nationalities may come into armed confrontation with the reactionary Indian state?, so it will be difficult for the Indian ruling classes to mobilise all their armed forces against our revolutionary war.
Violence has peaked in India from Maoist or Naxalite separatist violence being more dangerous to India’s national security, as declared by Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh.
From the Ministry of Home Affairs it has been stated that:
1996: 156 deaths [16]
1997: 428 deaths[16]
1998: 270 deaths[16]
1999: 363 deaths[16]
2000: 50 deaths[16]
2001: 100+ deaths[16]
2002: 140 deaths[16]
2003: 451 deaths[16]
2004: 500+ deaths[16]
2005: 892 deaths
2006: 749 deaths
2007: (as of September 30, 2007) 384 deaths[17]
(related to Naxalite insurgency)[18]
2008: 938 casualties (including 38 Maoists).[19]
[20]
2009: Naxalites separatists struck at the first phase of elections on 16 April, 2009 in Bihar, Chattisgarh and Jharkhand killing 18 civilians and security forces. Later, on 23 April, 2009, they also struck in the second phase of polling in Jamshedpur and surrounding areas in Jharkhand injuring several member of the polling party. May 2009: 16 police die in suspected Maoist attack [21]
The BBC maintains that upwards of 6,000 people have died in the Naxal uprising.[5]
The issue of Maoist is more deadly and more serious than handful of Talibans Naxals/Maoists have taken complete control of a large territory and Indian Army is unable to confront them right now. Indian politicians though raise finger towards China but the main reason is surely the growing social injustice and wildly spreading poverty in many regions inside India.
World is closing its eyes from the issue as Maoists/Naxals are non Muslims. The world ignored the matter similarly when Khmer Rouge in Cambodia built the tower of human skulls to finally catch world’s attention.
This should be understood by the world that Maoists/Naxals are same type of communists breed like we saw in the case of Khmer Rouge when human blood was drained like water and catastrophe was unimaginable to many.
The power of Maoists is spreading and strengthening. Global awakening is too little and India is deliberately hiding this issue from the world’s eye just to paint itself as a safe nation. In clear facts these blood thirsty groups have enormous power and Taliban have no comparison to their expertise, weaponry and man power and lot more.
Recent American deal with India to provide Civil Nuclear Technology is a positive development. The reactors which India will build after this deal would definitely be safe and according to the international standards of safety and security. But the question arises, what will be the fate of those outdated Reactors which were built on the basis of obsolete Russian technology? Majority of those have been perished, ill maintained and alarmingly dangerous when nuclear contamination and leakages are expected.
My searched found some other serious unheard and horrifying facts regarding indian nuclear program. which has serious revelations and if not considered properly may result in a huge catastrophe many times higher than Chernobyl where people who lived around paid enormous price and facing the aftermath till now.
The world cannot ignore the fact that Indian Nuclear Program and security arrangements cannot meet the international standards they are extremely outdated and obsolete. Most importantly the kidnapping and killing of nuclear scientists and possible slippage of information to deadly forces like Maoist/Naxalite and other revolutionary groups operating inside India may take the world to even bigger loss than 9/11. The time has come when India should be asked questions about the security arrangements and proper assistance should be extended to India most importantly by USA under the new deal to refurbish and secure the Nuclear Assets of India.
I should say strongly yes the alarming bells are slowly raising their volume the question is who will hear that first???
Can America ignore this threat when Delhi comes under control of Maoists and Nuclear Arsenal would be distributed easily for billions of dollars to many terrorists groups around the world?
Can America bear this security threat or have decided to ignore it?
Can we say that American people are blind towards this bitter fact that this time the disaster would be even bigger than 9/11 as Maoists have strong relations with their Communist friends like North Korea which has become living enemy of USA?
Can Mr. Obama be able to justify to his nation that he has ignored a threat which is enormously high than what he expects from Al Qaeda??
More importantly the lawlessness in Naxals Area and lack of Government Control can also help Al Qaeda to breed another indirect force to carry out their operations and inflict heavy loss to USA. Ignoring this visible threat would be a clear carelessness from the part of Obama Administration!!
World should watch the next threat closely. It’s Naxal/Maoist Communist’s threat.
I love Black because Black is not a color strictly speaking. It is the absence of all color. When people speak of opposites, it is usually in terms of black & white. It has come to mean hidden. It is linked to the unknown or the unseen.
I heard a news about US Black Water in Pakistan. So its became xited me to know about it then I started my search and I found a terrible face of US military strategy and Black water or Xe. First I would like to share some information source from wikipidia.
Xe Services LLC is a private military company founded in 1997 by Erik Prince and Al Clark. In October 2007, the company was renamed Blackwater Worldwide and was colloquially referred to as “Blackwater”. The company announced on February 13, 2009, that it would operate under the new name “Xe”.
Based in the U.S. of North Carolina, Xe operates a tactical training facility which the company claims is the world’s largest, and at which the company trains more than 40,000 people a year, mostly from U.S. or foreign military and police services. The training consists of military offensive and defensive operations, as well as smaller scale personal security.source from wikipidia.
These all information collected and searched from different sites
(In the late 1990s Erik spent part of his inherited wealth to purchase about 6,000 acres of the Great Dismal Swamp, a vast wetland area on the North Carolina/Virginia border, now mostly a national preserve. Here he created his state-of-the-art private training facility, and his contracting company—Blackwater—is named for the peat-colored water of the swamp. Blackwater USA was formed to provide training support to military and law enforcement organizations. Overall, the company has received over US$1 billion in government contracts. Blackwater consists of nine divisions, and a subsidiary, Blackwater Vehicles.
Blackwater Worldwide has played a substantial role during the Iraq War as a contractor for the United States government. Blackwater has been paid more than $320 million out of a $1 billion, five-year State Department budget for the Worldwide Personal Protective Service, which protects U.S. officials and some foreign officials in conflict zones. In 2006, Blackwater won the renumerative contract to protect the U.S. embassy in Iraq, the largest American embassy in the world. It is estimated by the Pentagon and company representatives that there are 20,000 to 30,000 armed security contractors working in Iraq, and some estimates are as high as 100,000, though no official figures exist. Of the State Department’s dependence on private contractors like Blackwater for security purposes, U.S. ambassador to Iraq Ryan Crocker told the U.S. Senate: “There is simply no way at all that the State Department’s Bureau of Diplomatic Security could ever have enough full-time personnel to staff the security function in Iraq. There is no alternative except through contracts.”
There are a variety of ongoing controversies involving Blackwater Worldwide that are not in direct relation to their specific and individual operations for the U.S. government. However, their role in their work is the factor of these controversies.
in December 2006, an Iraqi politician, Ayham al-Samarie, escaped from a prison in Iraq, where he was awaiting trial for 12 criminal corruption cases. Blackwater, which he had hired for protection before his arrest, allegedly helped him escape. He said from Dubai he would return to the United States as he hadn’t broken any U.S. laws and had fled Iraq because he feared he would be killed or kidnapped. He arrived in Chicago on January 9, claiming that an Iraqi judge had ordered his release, he feared being killed if he stayed in jail, and U.S. officials had assured him he would not be extradited to Iraq.
On September 22, 2007, U.S. federal prosecutors announced an investigation into allegations that Blackwater employees may have smuggled weapons into Iraq, and that these weapons may have been later transferred to the Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK), a Kurdish nationalist group designated a terrorist organization by the United States, NATO and the EU. The U.S. government was investigating Blackwater for these alleged crimes. On October 4, 2007, the FBI took over the investigation.
According to Prince, he stated in September 2007 that there was a “rush to judgment” about Blackwater, due to “inaccurate information”.)
These all information collected and searchedby myself from different sitesbut questions are still remains if US establishment, Policy makers and military leaders funding world largest private security compny BSC for what and their program was kept secret from Congress L. The program is still kept a a classified secret from the American people. Yet Blackwater and the CIA saw no problem with telling foreign mercenaries about it. The criminal conspircy has leaked out. It seems that Blackwater planned to subcontract out pieces of the assasination plot to foreign mercenaries and agents. The justification for this was that you wouldn’t want to have American fingerprints on it” its being the assassination plot, because assassination is a crime. The CIA knew it was a crime. Blackwater knew it was a crime. Why aren’t the people involved in this criminal conspiracy being ordered to appear before open, public investigations by Congress? Why aren’t they being arrested and arraigned? Why does the program remain classified, if it really has been terminated? Why do US people have to rely upon anonymous government sources to tell them the version of events they want to tell them? What other criminal conspiracies has the CIA decided to keep secret from them? When there are crimes this serious in high offices of the federal government, and perhaps in the White House itself, the American people deserve to know the whole truth, and the perpetrators deserve to be brought to juctice.
Moreover According to a recent Barack Husain Obama’s and his administration exposed and announced new military strategy has retained the services of the notorious Blackwater guards to carry out drone attacks in Pakistan and Afghanistan, denoting no substantive distinction from the Bush administration’s use of Blackwater now operating under the banner of Xe Services LLC to carry out ’targeted assassinations’ in PAK AFG and Iraq. Bush administration hired Blackwater USA to carry out assassinations of alleged Al Qaeda operatives. In spite of Blackwater’s well established record of random killings of Iraqi civilians, the Obama administration has retained its services in Afghanistan. A new report reveals that Blackwater has been contracted to work with the unmanned marauder drones that carry out assassinations and terrorize villages in eastern and southern Afghanistan and the border regions of Pakistan.
It raises the an other question of where the US military apparently controlled by the elected representatives of the American people ends? The Obama administration has carried over from the Bush administration Blackwater’s critical role in the use of the remote controlled marauder drones that have killed many civilians in Afghanistan and Pakistan. The drones purported purpose is to assassinate Al Qaeda leaders. Their deployment in Pakistan is in clear violation of international law as the US has never declared war on the south asian state.
It has crystal clear that no substntive distenction between the Bush administration’s hiring of Blackwater to carry out targeted assassinations in Iraq with snipers and ambushes, and the Obama administration’s farming out to the military security firm its drone assassination program in the Pakistan theater, whose victims have consisted primarily of civilians.
Xe or Blackwater provides security to hidden bases in Pakistan and Afghanistan that carry out the drone attacks which have dramatically increased since Obama took office. Blackwater personnel also assemble and load Hellfire missiles and 500-pound laser-guided bombs work formerly carried out by the CIA. As every Pakistani know that CIA has launched its marauder attacks from a base in Shamsi Pakistan but has recently added a second secret base in Jalalabad, Afghanistan,. Most drone missions are now launched from Jalalabad, with CIA agents operating the attacks, and launching the missiles from Virginia.
Jawaid Choudhry xposed from some our hidden military sources that University Town in Peshawar is the headquarter of Black Water in Pakistan. He also claims that Black Water people can been frequently seen in the area guarding vehicles and people, clad in black suits and black glasses. He also says that the biggest embassy of America in Islamabad having thousands of employees is just another Black Water plan. He also says that Black Water is operating in Pakistan under the cover of a NGO Creative Associates
If that is true, then what exactly is the purpose and objective of Black Water in Pakistan? What they are guarding or are they planning some kind of offensive? Our politicos are dead silent over that. Our parliament is a rubber stamp, and our president is as usual on foreign trips and our premier is all-time-confused. Our opposition is luke-warm and rest of the parties are plain hopeless. The only hope against any Black Water is our security forces and the people of this country, who are ready to shed every last drop of their blood for the motherland. May ALLAH S.T protect PAKISTAN. AMEN.
why does the CIA Black water criminal assassination plot remain a classified secret?
When I was thinking about today’s topic meanwhile light bhummmmm as per daily rotten electricity problem at the same time my sweet Tetli (Butterfly) came and called me , I could not identify her then hardly found her. She was feeling fear and said Mamo Bahoo(Ghost) I tried to comedown her, and told her a story about a nation’s Ghosts. Real ghosts of 170 million people.
As soon as you open the television you become conscious that Peoples Party’s Chairman, and Presedent of Islami Jhamoriya Pakisatan Mr. Asif Ali Zardari, is either leaving or has already left Pakistan.
I really wonder what he is running from. Pakistan’s existing confusion? Who’s actual cause is he him self and his so called party manifestos.
After the elections, Mr. Zardari made several visits to USA, London, Saudi Arabia, Turky, Sweden and Dubai along with his own Jiyalys or personal jailbird friends. He does not even have time to justify his visits to the poor public who gave him the chance to be on this seat. “The only ministers” rather “ear-splitting amplifiers” in the party Mr. Rehman Malik keep explaining how busy he is looking after the part issues as well as his family. Busy in what? Family affairs? Or checking his properties, bank balance or for chill?
Similarly Mr. Sharif also looking after Pakistan, while sitting in London Saudia or Dubai. He also does not have time to pay attention to the fundamental issues of country. Political and social Instability has already caused immeasurable loss to the poor people.
Regardless of having several similarities between both of the leaders, they do not agree on numerous vital issues with each other. It might be the “Personal Grudge” which is keeping them distanced. And why on earth Zardari will trust Sharif more than he can on Mr. Musharraf. During Mr. Sharif’s premiership, he initiated cases against Zardari and due to them he had to be in jail for eight years. But Musharraf not only released him from the jail but bestowed him with NRO. No wonder he trusts “the Iron Man” more that he does on Mr. Sharif.
The most influential power in Pakistan these days is “Media”. These so called, news channels, journalists, analysts, anchors and media mafia have globally captured our political thoughts. Since most of Pakistani population is uneducated, they consider media the final authority. In that scenario they are getting full advantage of the situation. Living example is Dr. Shahid Masood, who kept cursing every step taken by the former and existing government along with US policies towards Pakistan until the day he became M.D. PTV.
These news channels are addictions; this mafia keeps you so busy that you do not even have time to look into the real picture. Every day you keep getting injected with elevated prices. In a country where average income is less than two dollars a day who will think where their leaders are? Who would like to pay attention to the political activities when people do not even have enough money to buy flour? Why would they be interested to know about the chief justice issue (which is already past now?)
This Slogan Roti, Kapra & Makan was so accurate. They have made all of these things BUT for them selves.
To the people of Pakistan, the coalition leaders Mr. Zardari & Nawaz Sharif are practically deceased, only Pakistan’s private channels and press are keeping them alive.
But all these leaders have forgotten a further reality about this country; that people are more awared than past now. They are trying to get knowledge; after all it is the mark of a “knowledged mind” to be able to entertain a thought without accepting it.
One is actually the democracy here, you know people are, people assume that this election means that there is democracy in Pakistan. There is no democracy

As a Pakistani I watch and examine some news, stories and misinformation against it not only in Pakistani but also on international media and being a Pakistani we face.
Pakistan is one of the most significant country in the world these days particularly due to war against terrorism. Even Pakistan is one of the main issues of current USA politics. This is evident from the statements of US poleticians and current debates between US Presidential candidates.
Globally it appears that Pakistan is under fire all over the country so it is important to know Pakistan more in detail.
Pakistan is spread round about over 778,720 SQ KM and it’s among 10 most populated countries of the world. It is gateway to china and central Asian countries through Afghanistan. It also neighbors india and Iran.
Since Russian invasion to Afghanistan, Pakistan is front line state helping Afghanistan to make it a peaceful country where people can live and prosper. However Pakistan paid a cost for that and still paying. Those who do not want world peace become direct enemy of Pakistan and trying to damage its own Peace and Economy. Pakistan becomes target of terrorism. International and some natinal media played a very negative role and instead of highlighting facts spread this violence in a way that magnifies the situation and helped the war loving people more as they find it helpful in getting their targets more easily.
It is a fact that Pakistan is under terrorist attacks but this is not the culture of Pakistan. Pakistan means Land of Pure and its entire population is peace loving and kind. Only few are doing inhuman things because of their ill intentions.
In this situation, Pakistan truly deserves Global support for her stand against terrorism. Most important thing to understand is that Pakistan is a big country as far as land is concerned. Anything bad definitely affects the whole country but physically it does not affect the whole system. People are doing their businesses and work, streets have traffic as usual. Shopping centers are busy. Education is going on and all other things belonging to life.
Karachi is my birth place and which is the biggest City of Pakistan and hub for major industrial, commercial and economical activities is getting a new look. A lot of progress has been made in recent years particularly in infra structure development. New projects are on their way. Sky scrappers are planned and will be there in few years time. This all indicates that potential is there and Pakistan is worth place to business with.
"Picture as abouve is my Real Pakistan and Pure Pakistani"
“In Pakistan failing infrastructure and the absence of good governance as xposed through declining economic and social indicators shows us a dismal scenario, poor law enforcement”
When we switch to CNN or BBC with in 20 mints they show at least one type of news like al-Qaeda or Talibangrab the Pakistan’s nuclear? These are the questions which raised every day by the European or American media and policy circles. .
As per my surch approximately two dozen suicide bombings in 2009 so far, (66 in 2008) and (61 in 2007) all of which have sharp targeted Defence like Pakistan Army, police, some politicians, and ordinary people not only in the country’s turbulent northwest but also in its major urban centers it indicate the seriousness of the threat. A ammunition factory Wah (Punjab) was targeted by two suicide bombers in August 2008, an act that sent shudders across the country’s security establishment.
Although certainly a matter of very serious concern is that terrorists need far more than suicide bombers to get hold of nuclear materials. In fact is the xpanding influance and reach of the Taliban and similar groups in the FATA and the NWFP. The Swat embarrassing situation speaks for itself.
Poor law enforcement capacity and inadequate counterinsurgency know how on the part of Pakistan’s army are partly responsible for this state of affairs. Confused threat perceptions and popular consperetorial thinking also encourages the denial of reality. The failing infrastructure and absence of good governance asexposed through prolonged electricity shutdowns and declining economic and social indicators further provides an overall dismal scenario. All of this however presents only one side and a scary one at that of the coin.
if you close your eyes to the other side of the coin at your own risk. Pakistan a country of roughly 170 million people recently witnessed the fruits of a courageous and sustained lawyers movement that led to the restoration of the deposed Chief Justice Iftikhar Mohammad Chaudhry and about 60 other superior court judges. These judges were victims of former President Pervez Musharraf’s shortsghtednes and selfishness in 2007 in turn provoked a major movement that inspired and stimulated thousands of Pakistanis to struggle for the rule of law an independent judiciary and the supremacy of the constitution. The people stood up for those who defied a dictator a rare development in the 62 year checkered history of Pakistan. The movement’s leading activists were connected through print and electronic media an indication that the middle class and prorule of law civil society elements are also well networked.
A vibrant and enthusiastic electronic and print media helped this cause greatly though sometimes at the cost of objectivity but for a progressive goal. There is no dearth of Pakistani writers, artists, poets, and intellectuals who are not only continuing with their creative work but also are readying people to stand up to the country’s challenges especially the monster of religious intolerance. Another relevant example is the many women who are joining Pakistan’s army and air force as soldiers and fighter pilots presents yet another picture. This is the picture of hope and change that Pakistanis are calling UMEED E SEHR the hope of a new dawn.
But indeed the question is which picture is the real Pakistan? those crazy militants who cherish beheading opponents and beating women or those who stand for a pluralistic, progressive, and democratic Pakistan. The answer is both. Those who accept nothing but just look at the voting pattern in the 2008 national and elections the comparatively liberal (PPP,ANP and MQM) received significantly more votes than the religious political parties all of which were trounced.
Those parties are of course not without fault and a large community of votes also went to such centrist parties as the Nawaz Sharif-led Muslim League which runs Punjab the country’s largest province. Although the overall political trends are on the positive side there is certainly increasing stress and strain.
In this scheme of things American Pakistani relations are a very important part of the puzzle. It is a puzzle in the sense that despite a long history of relations including times when Pakistan was called the (most allied ally) and occasions when it became (Tthe most sanctioned state) both states distrust each other. The mutual dealings are increasingly filled with resentment, miscommunication, and a sense of caginess.
Chir. foreing relation John F. Kerry and Republican Dick Lugar while introducing legislation to put effect key elements of President Obama’s new strategy in Pakistan and Afghanistan framed the problem appropriately when they said (The status is not working the United States believes it is paying too much and getting too little and most Pakistanis believe exactly the opposite). The new bill if approved by Congress will triple nonmilitary assistance to Pakistan to $1.5 billion annually for the next five years to help the country stabilize.
An earlier bill with the same intent the one introduced by Chair. Foreign Affairs Committee Howard Berman had a long list of conditions attached to it. This list drew scathing criticism from Pakistani officials who sent the clear message that they would not accept the aid package with such strings attached. One condition related to the terrorism issue read as (Pakistan has to certify that there is no activity taking place against India)
Richard Holbrookethe administration’s special representative to Pakistan and Afghanistan and Mike MullenChair. Joint Chiefs of Staff, visited Pakistan together after these proposed conditions were made known to Pakistan government. I read Shuja Nawaz’s article on Holbrooke and Mike visited Shuja Nawaz well informed, explains what happened during the visit (This is probably the worst ever visit by an American team to South Asia in history. … It was a complete disaster. And if this is how you want to win friends, I just wonder how you want to create enemies.) He also cautioned Washington policy makers that potentially, American Pakistan relations were heading for a train wreck. Thankfully a crisis in the making was duly averted.
However the question remains How can one make certain that a legitimate and reasonable oversight of the funding and support is provided to those sectors where help is needed the most? To build a deeper, sustainable, and long-term strategic engagement with the people of Pakistan, the United States must learn from its past mistakes and should not shy away from accepting its past missteps.
Pakistan is a divided nation today and a democratic society trapped inside an undemocratic state.” In the West, Pakistan army is still seen as an institution that can stabilize things if need be. As we saw the Time Magazine, why profiled Pakistan’s army chief General Ashfaq Pervez Kianias being among the most influential 100 people in the world today in the category of Leaders and Revolutionaries.
A few months before I was watching Mr Haroon ul Rasheed in sitcom show KALAM KAAR he xplained When States Failor Causes and Consequences, he provided a useful informative framework. He continued that weak states (or states in crisis) they may be basically strong, but temporarily or situationally weak because of internal antagonisms, despotism, or external attacks. Weak states typically harbor ethnic, religious tensions… Urban crime rates tend to be high and increasing… Schools and hospitals show sign of neglect, GDP per capita and other critical economic indicators have fallen or are falling… . Weak states usually honor rule of law precepts in the breach.
As per these decisive factors, Pakistan is a weak state in essence. By definition, internal corrective process and international support can rescue such states.
